That’s where the 625 Inconel Shim Sheet steps in! The alloy offers excellent corrosion resistance properties across a broad spectrum of media and the ASME SB443 Inconel Alloy 625 Strip is able to withstand not only stress presented by high temperature but also high pressured conditions. Speaking about the petrochemical and fuel industry, the JIS NCF 625 Hot Rolled Plates can inhibit the degradation caused by naphthenic acid along with chloride ion stress related corrosion cracking.
Moreover, the alloy is able to reduce degradation that occurs either in high temperature sulphidation as well as polythionic acid, simply referred to in short as PTA. While Inconel 625 is an alloy whose primary properties are considered to be oxidation and reduction resistance, its resistance to naphthenic acid is least spoken about. Usually, in the distillation towers in fuel or oil refineries, the temperatures often range between 220°C - 400°C. At such high temperatures, regular carbon steel grades or stainless steel alloys crack or are damaged by such stress. However, in the case of ASTM B443 UNS N06625 Cold Drawn Plate, which can withstand a lot of stress in these environments, the performance is exceptional.
What’s more, is that in the Werkstoff No 2.4856 Coils is resilient to the effects of hydrogen sulphide is not only sour wells but also in hydrotreating units in the fuel refineries. Another positive aspect observed by our clients belonging to the fuel industry is that the Alloy 625 Sheet is very resistant to ammonia as well as ammonium sulphide, both of which cause corrosion in conventional steel grades. The combination of its good resistance to PTA, hydrogen sulphide along with intergranular corrosion and its superior mechanical properties at elevated temperatures and good weldability make the Inconel 625 Plate indispensable to the fuel, petrochemical as well as the oil and gas industries.

The 2D refers to unpolished production. The Inconel 625 is a strong and corrosion resistant material. It is used for high temperature applications at high pressure. The appearance might not be important at all applications. Where the looks don’t matter, the plates are applied with less polishing. These silver gray plates that are non-reflective are called the 2D plates. The cold rolled sheets on the other hand are produced under high temperatures and then rolled again under room temperature to get the necessary smooth surface. It looks polished, smooth and reflective. In short, the cold rolled steel looks smooth where the 2D Inconel 625 plate does not.
