- Which Test certificate is required with ASTM B575 UNS 10276 Alloy C276 plate?
This is because the ASTM B575 UNS N10276 Cold Drawn Plate does not have a sufficient amount of chromium, which can be used to hinder degradation by the oxidation process at elevated temperatures. Basically an austenitic nickel alloy, the addition of tungsten in Werkstoff No 2.4819 Coils improves the alloys wear resistance properties. Moreover, tungsten also proves to be a valuable addition to C276 Hastelloy Hot Rolled Plates on account of the increase noted in not only its mechanical properties, but also its resistance to corrosion.
With regards to its corrosion resistance property of JIS NW 0276 Cold Rolled Plate, adding tungsten also results in higher resistance to local forms of corrosion such as pitting, general corrosion as well as to crevice degradation.
Nickel is fabled for resistance against corrosion that occurs in reductive environments. In the case of the manufacturing process of paper or bleaching of paper, the Alloy C276 Sheet is in contact with reductive bleaches or oxidative bleaches such as peroxide or hypochlorite. Since the alloys are able to withstand the harsh mechanical activity as well as temperature change and addition of various chemicals during its manufacture process, the Hastelloy C276 Plate is often employed in the pulp and paper industry.

The ASTM B575 UNS 10276 specification is for nickel chromium alloy C276 that is used in high temperature and high corrosive applications. Due to the high standard and mechanical properties of this material, to prove the genuineness of the material it has to undergo the ASTM G28A and G28B tests. These tests verify the metallurgy and thermo-mechanical processes. These tests don’t have a pass criteria. The results are agreed by both parties. The G28A is conducted with sulfate and sulfuric acid boiling test where the G28A test is conducted with mixed acid (sulfuric, hydrochloric, ferric chloride and cupric chloride) oxidizing salt boiling test.
