While UNS N06600 Tubing does not lose its much sought after characteristics. Properties such as high tensile strength and corrosion resistance of the Nickel Alloy 600 Annealed Tube are not affected even at  2000°F. Why Inconel 600 tubing is used for Heat exchanger and Gas turbines?

Inconel 600 is a nickel chromium alloy with other elements such as copper manganese, silicon, sulfur and carbon in its composition. The material is strong with 655MPa minimum tensile strength and 310MPa minimum yield strength. It also has a melting point of 1354 to 1413 degrees Celsius. This means that the tubing made up of this material can withstand high pressure and high temperature. The heat exchangers and gas turbines operate under high temperature and high pressure conditions. Also Inconel 600 is much oxidation resistant at elevated temperatures. This is why Inconel 600 Tubing is used in heat exchangers and gas turbines.
