Inconel 625 Round Bar

The SAE grade AMS 5666 is a specification that covers the heat as well as corrosion resistant  625 Inconel Hollow Bar. Dimensions of the ASTM B446 UNS N06625 Bright Bar such as its thickness, diameter, or width in addition to its length and straightness are to be kept in accordance with the specification ASTM B446.

Being a nickel rooted alloy, the WERKSTOFF NR. 2.4856 hex bar gains several properties which have been observed in the former element. Take, for instance, nickel’s ability to withstand elevated temperatures; this property has been transferred to the alloy 625 Cold Drawn Round Bar. Therefore, the 625 Inconel Alloy Flat Bar can be applied in those sectors where the temperatures can rise to as high as 2000°F. Furthermore, since the AMS 5666 hot rolled round bar contains a very high content of nickel, it does not undergo a ductile to brittle transition phase at low temperatures, unlike conventionally used stainless steel grades i.e. grade 304 & 316.

In fact, the toughness properties of Alloy 625 Square Bar remains similar to what it was in the ambient environments. Another point of appreciation with regards to the Inconel 625 Round Bar is that the alloy is well suited to be used for cryogenic applications as well. Not only this but the ASME SB446 Inconel Alloy 625 Forged Bar also exhibits very high tolerance for a reductive compound containing environments. While the substantial amount of chromium added to the Nickel Alloy 625 Rod imparts the metal superior resistance to oxidative conditions.

What is the weight difference between Inconel 625 round bar and square bar?

Inconel 625 is a corrosion resistant, strong and ductile nickel chromium alloy with molybdenum, niobium, vanadium and cobalt in its composition. The material can be formed into any shape so there are round bars and square bars. The round bars have a circular cross section where the square bars have a square cross section obviously. Since the material is stronger, some structural applications only require less weight square bars to make some lattices. Some other applications on the other hand require strong and heavier round bars to be installed.

Hollow Bars are cheaper compare to same size Alloy 625 Bars because of its lighter weight.
