Generally, the ASTM B730 Monel 400 ERW Tubes are to be delivered either in a welded condition or they can be delivered in a welded and annealed condition. It is mandatory that the ASTM B730 tubes be stress released prior to being supplied.

The Monel NCF 400 material manufactured according to this specification is designed to combat general corrosive conditions. Being a nickel copper based alloy the Alloy 400 hot finish tubing has the ability to resist saltwater, brine, caustic solutions along with other solutions as well. ASTM B163 WERKSTOFF NR. 2.4360 cold drawn tube is mostly found in the application in Sulfuric acid as well as hydrofluoric acid alkylation units, where the material is frequently in contact with concentrated hydrofluoric acid.
A particularly useful characteristic of the ASME SB163 UNS N04400 annealed tube is its superior resistance to sulfuric, which if aerated will be able to yield much better results. Nickel Alloy 400 welded tubing could also be used in the Feed water and steam generators in addition to being used in a piping system involving brine heaters as well as in seawater scrubbers and in tanker inert gas systems.
While the Alloy 400 Seamless Tubing illustrates good mechanical properties across a wide range of temperatures, the alloy must not be used at a temperature higher than 1000° F. However the Monel 400 Tube can be used at subzero temperatures, as the alloy does not lose its mechanical properties such as its tensile strength and toughness.

The tubes of Monel 400 are extremely corrosion resistant to acids, alkali and chloride ion rich media. The material has 67% nickel and is a nickel copper alloy. The material is made into tubes, pipes, rods and bars. The tubes are used in applications that often deal with measurements and instrumentation. The marine application instruments, chemical operational instruments and many other instruments that are to deal with corrosive liquids deploy the Monel 400 tubes. Therefore these tubes are call Monel 400 instrumentation tubing. Due to the high mechanical properties of the material, the tubing lasts longer without corrosion or failure.
