- What is the difference between Nickel alloy 200 sheet and pure nickel sheet?
Referred to as a commercially pure grade, the Nickel Alloy Ni-200 Hot Rolled Plates, like element nickel has great corrosion resistance properties. In addition to this Alloy 200 Sheet can be used at high temperatures up to 600ºF. Mostly, the Werkstoff No 2.4066 Cold Drawn Plate is prized for its corrosion resistance properties across many mediums. Since ASME SB162 UNS N02200 strips tend to be expensive, buyers belonging to industries such as chemical, aerospace, and marine engineering industry prefer using it.
The Nickel 200 Plate can also be used in various structural applications, especially in those places where corrosion resistance is of key importance. ASTM B162 Ni 200 Coils also have properties such as a lower gas content in addition to low vapour pressure.

The nickel alloy 200 sheet is a pure nickel wrought sheet. It has nickel up to 99% of the composition with manganese, silicon, copper, carbon and sulfur. There are different grades of nickel that are called commercially pure nickel. The 200 is the most used grade but the 201, 205 and 205LC are also used. So pure nickel sheet might mean any of these grades of metal sheet but Ni 200 specifically mentions the Alloy 200. The applications include food processing equipment, rocket motors, synthetic fibers, drums for the transportation of chemicals, missile components and in other aerospace applications.
