So even if Nickel Alloy Ni-201 Cold Rolled Plate has been used in an application where the metal has been exposed to elevated temperatures, these JIS NW 2201 Hot Rolled Plates will exhibit superior mechanical properties.  One of the specifications pertaining to the Alloy 201 Sheet is the ASTM B162. The aforementioned specification specifies that the supplied ASME SB162 Pure Nickel Alloy 201 strips must not only be uniform in quality and temper but these plates are to be smoothened.

 

The ASTM B162 UNS N02201 Cold Drawn Plate must be commercially produced straight or flat. Moreover, an important mention in the ASTM B162 specification is that the Nickel 201 Plate needs to be free of injurious imperfections. Tests such as chemical analysis and mechanical test as well as grain size test are to be conducted on the Werkstoff No 2.4068 Coils specimens.

Difference between nickel alloy 201 strips and sheets

The nickel alloy 201 is a commercially pure wrought nickel material. It is produced in various types. The sheets are manufactured in large scale thin layers of this material. The strips are essentially sheets in width less than 24 inches and a thickness less than 3/16 inches. The strips are rolled in large piles. The sheets are produced in much larger widths than the strips and in high thickness as well. While sheets are used in paneling, making platforms and containers, the strips are used to fill in the gaps or to make linings in an application.
